Welcome to Macro Flowers Saturday!
I hope you are having a beautiful Holy Week and to make it more beautiful, enchant us all with your lovely flowers.
My contribution is this beautiful hanging Vanda orchid, which I saw hanging on the walls of common florist boutique a few days ago.
It is the first time I see a hanging orchid with its long tendrils of roots dangling down.

Ignorant as I am I asked the florist why did he take it out from the pot?
I admired the brilliant colors and the large shape of the orchid flowers but it was very expensive and I decided to read about it first. I am glad I did because I found out that they are definitely tropical orchids and difficult plants.
Now I know, in the wild they grow on trees with their roots in the air.

Indoors, if hanging they will require soaking every day and they need lot of sunlight.
As gorgeous these orchids are and as much I should like to have one, with half a year cold weather, I couldn't offer them the proper care.

Happy Easter everyone!

Happy easter!
I have never, ever seen any orchids like these. Amazing and beautifully photographed.
What a magnificent orchard, I have never seen one like it before. The colors are brilliant. Great photos, I especially like the next to last shot.
Have a wonderful Easter weekend.

could you mail me some bulbs? those are so pretty maia! I love propagation ;-)
those are awesome orchids...love the patterns on them, beautiful!
Gorgeous color of the orchids! Your macro shots are stunning.
Oh I can just imagine the price ticket with these. They are just amazing and I just love the violet coloured markings on the petals. I would be afraid of buying one of these as I think I would struggle to give it the best conditions.
My friend I am sure has one of these - his orchids are in a special greenhouse with fans to keep the heat away in the summer and heaters for the winter. Some day I will see if he will allow me to take some photos to share with you all.
Have a Blessed Weekend Maia
