There are still plenty of roses in the backyard that don't want to let go. They look as beautiful as ever, under the December snow.
For many years I haven't seen roses covered by snow, but I remember from my childhood, that roses are the last flowers that die in winter.

Many years back, in a normal winter, first came the snow and just later, the frost. That's why, each year, in December we saw roses under snow.

Now, with this global warming, or who knows why, winters are different.
But today is a gorgeous day, I would like to have this on Christmas day.

Mmm really nice and artistic.. i loved it..
I love these shots, Maia! Such a unique combination - roses and snow at once! In our climate that never happens! It must be incredible to walk around and be able to take such wonderful pictures! You did a spectacular job - I can see every snow crystal and the rose colors are wonderful!
It would be great if you could issue a challenge to your flower flowers to see more of these from around the world. I can't get enough!
Thank you Julie (Quilt Works) for your kind words. A challenge would be nice but I think, people don't have time for it.
I took many photos today and I still have a reserve for future posts.
Gorgeous shots! the combination of colors for the rose is so unique but perfect with a touch of snow on them, love them all.
Beautiful macros.
Love these colorful roses under the snow.
Have a great week.

Maia - the details of the snow crystals upon that beautifully colored rose is just gorgeous!
The snow is like shaven ice, it is so beautiful on the red rose.
Maia, I posted early this week, so when I went to the link, it was not ready yet. Thanks for linking for me.
such an unusual, magical moment...summer and winter meeting in this way!
Beautiful photos of your rose with the snow... I also found myself out with the camera photographing roses in my back garden last week... they are gorgeous with the coating of snow and ice.
